WHY USC? In the wake of the November 2007 referendum defeat, USC was formed in December by a group of high school parents who were concerned about the future support of co-curricular activities in the district, and the facilities required. As USC toured the Chester County high schools, we found that not only had we fallen behind in co-curriculars, but also in Physical Education facilities. We were LAST out of 16 high schools in nearly every measurable category. Further research showed the connection between Physical Activity and improved Academic Performance, and how other schools were advancing that connection successfully. In the best interests of the community and its current and future students, USC decided to move forward with a Capital Campaign to focus on this important aspect of a student’s education.
